The publisher

Who writes the entries
The dispatches and investigations are written by people who work in this industry: operators who run creator accounts, manage chatting, and read the platform pages every week because their business depends on them. That is the reason the desk can explain a Star payout hold, a help-centre rewrite or a court docket without hand waving. It is also the reason you should know it, because it cuts both ways.
No writer is named and there is no photograph. Everything is signed "the desk". In a business where creators, chatters and operators are routinely harassed, a byline is a liability rather than a credential, and the desk would rather publish sourced work anonymously than unsourced work with a name on it. The consequence is that you cannot take anything here on the authority of the author. You are not asked to. Every factual claim carries a link to the page it came from and the date it was read, so the thing you are trusting is the source, not the desk.
Conflicts of interest, stated
The people behind this site operate in the industry it describes, which includes using AI chatting software of the kind discussed in the AI and work section. Assume an interest. That is why this newspaper names no AI chatting vendor, publishes no tool prices, no rankings, no scores and no recommendations. Public prices and comparisons live on other sites of the same network, and where one of them is used as a source, the source line says so.
What this desk refuses to do
- No reviews or ratings. The desk has not tested any product under controlled conditions, so it does not score anything.
- No testimonials. No quoted customers, no case studies, no invented people. There is not a single fictional person on this site.
- No affiliate links and no sponsorship. No link here pays the desk, and no company has paid for a mention or seen an entry before publication.
- No accusations. Platforms and companies are described by what their pages and filings say. An allegation is reported as an allegation until a court rules.
- No legal, tax or financial advice. Official texts are quoted and linked. What they mean for your situation is a question for a professional who knows your facts.
How an entry gets published
An entry is written from primary sources: platform terms and help pages, filed accounts and their coverage, court dockets, regulator pages, official administration pages, public job postings. Each figure is read on the page on the date printed next to it. A number that cannot be sourced is not printed and the gap is named.
